The Canadian Music awards (the Junos) are the equivalent of the Grammys. Whibley's band, Sum 41, won the Goup of the year Juno award in 2002.

Whibley married Avril Lavigne on July 15th 2006 in Montecito, California. It was a traditional wedding in spite of their rock history. They were married for 4 years.
