Preoperational Stage
Today is Sam's birthday celebration of 2 years, her family throws her a small family and friend's party. She plays princesses with her friends; all goes well up until cake time... As her parents cut the cake, the first piece falls apart while the second stays in shape. As her parents try and hand her the "pretty" piece Sam refuses it believing the first fallen apart piece of cake is bigger even though both are the same proportion. -
Concrete Operational
While Sam is at the store accompanying her mom for groceries, she spots a set of black, hot wheel monster trucks in the toy aisle. Looking at them she remembers how it'll be her best friend Jaiden's birthday tomorrow, and how much he loves monster trucks and that his favorite color is black. She runs to catch up to her mom, clinging to her sleeve for attention and began begging to buy the set in hopes of gifting them to him the next day. -
Formal Operational
As Sam grew. she began to notice patters in her parents' relationship that weren't necessarily healthy. Her parents then one day hinted on a needed conversation discussing and I quote "big changes are about to happen loves, big and different changes. But it's for the best, don't be mad." Sam then waited anxiously, though she already knew what it was her parents wanted to talk about...
