3. Ben is dared into the infamous house During Ben's youth, he is dared into the Marsten house by some of his friends. Ben accepts the dare and enters the house despite its heavy atmosphere. Ben persists deeper into the house until he stumbles upon the main room. Ben sees a hanged man open his eyes and chase Ben out of the house. Mears' experience predisposes him to acknowledge a supernatural threat. -
Ben's wife dies by a motorcycle incident

During an interstate trip, Ben and Miranda suffer a motorcycle wreck that leads to a catastrophic end. Miranda's death fills Ben with grief and he looks to waiting as a resort to cope. Ben considers his old town to write his novel on and he prepares a trip there -
Ben arrives at Jerusalem's lot

3. He travels to Salem's Lot to begin his novel Ben Mears travels to his old town, Salem's Lot, to begin his novel on the Marsten house. He arrives in the town and is flooded with memories that hastily foreshadow the conclusion. During his first walk in the park, he meets Susan, a fresh college graduate, and they fall for each other. He settles in a town motel with a view of the Marsten house and begins his writing. -
The vampire arrives
1.Barlow, the vampire, and his human accomplice, Straker.

3.Barlow seeks to sustain himself on the people of the town Straker arrives in town and purchases the Marsten house for what he claims to be an antique business. Once Straker has established his ownership of the house, he delivers Barlow into town. The vampire feeds not long after and strange occurrences become common life. -
Danny is turned into a vampire
1.Danny, who is a teen, his young brother, and Straker

3. An ambush by Barlow leads to Danny's capture Danny and his young brother head to a party and take a shortcut through the woods. Straker lures the boys deeper into the woods and captures Ralphie, Danny's brother. Ralphie is sacrificed to an entity and Danny is bitten by Barlow. Danny is released and sent back to town where he is put in the hospital. Danny is then declared dead but his body disappears. -
Matt Burke's encounter
1.Matt Burke, an English teacher, Mike, a previous student, and a vampirized Danny Glick.
2. early October soon after Danny's disappearance.
3. Danny looks for sustenance and finds it in the sickened Mike Matt Burke goes home after a night of drinks with his new friend, Ben. He hears a knock on the door and consecutively opens the door to a sick-looking Mike. Matt invites him in and allows him to rest in his room. Matt hears what sounds like Danny Glick and goes to Mike to find him dead -
mark and Susan are kidnapped
1.Susan, Mark, Barlow, and Straker
2. late October
3. Both Mark and Susan accidentally synchronize an attack on the vampires. While Mark is scouting the Marsten house, he finds Susan in the path to the house. Once together, they enter the house but are quickly captured by Straker. Mark is taken upstairs and Susan is taken to the basement where Barlow turns her. Mark achieves an escape and kills Straker before quickly fleeing. -
Ben and Mark form a team
1.Ben, Mark, Father Callahan, and Matt
2. late October soon after Susan and Mark's capture
3. Mark informs Ben of Susan's fate and they both seek to bring it to an end The day after Mark's capture, he rushes to Ben and informs him of the events that transpired. Ben is angered and seeks to end the threat as soon as possible. They form a team consisting of Matt, Mark, Ben, and a Catholic priest, Father Callahan. With the team formed, The vampires face possible defeat. -
Father Callahan leaves

3.during a mission, Father Callahan protects Mark at the cost of his own faith Father Callahan and Mark head to Mark's house in the midst of news that threatened Mark's parents. Both members arrive late and are welcomed by Barlow. Barlow targets Mark but Father Callahan stands in the way and allows Mark's escape. father Callahan holds Barlow back but his faith is ultimately broken. Barlow allows Callahan's escape but he leaves town. -
Ben and Mark kill Barlow

3.Ben and Mark plan an attack on Barlow Ben and Mark plan out the attack on Barlow spontaneously and proceed to achieve it. Before adventuring, they bathe themselves in holy water and become resistant to the other vampires. Once In the Marsten house, they proceed to ambush and kill Barlow during an intense struggle. Once Barlow is gone, the primary leader of the vampires is gone and Ben and Mark flee out of town.
