Jane Austen's novel was written during the Romantic period, and it was her second novel. "Pride and Prejudice" is regarded by many to be her most famous and best-loved work of fiction, with its focus on young ladies in search of husbands.

Peterloo Massacre

Aug 16, 1819

An estimated 18 people, including a woman and a child, died from saber cuts and trampling. Over 700 men, women and children received extremely serious injuries. All in the name of liberty and freedom from poverty.
