    The Navigation Acts were a set of rules that the English Parliament imposed on the colonists, requiring them to sell all raw materials to England, even though they might be able to find better prices elsewhere in England.

    Fort necessity

    Washington set up a small fort of his own called Fort Necessity. Soon after setting up his own fort, it came under attack. Later, after the combined army won the battle, this forced his soldiers to surrender. Even though Washington suffered from defeat, the colonists still viewed him as a hero.
