My parents never sent me to preschool. Instead, in the year or two before kindergarten, my older sisters would come home from school and teach me how to read and write.
-
By the start of kindergarten, I already knew how to read. I remember once getting in a small argument once with a kid who wanted the same book as me in class. I wanted to read it and he just wanted to look at the pictures.
-
I remember reading a Mo Willems book in front of my first grade class.
-
I would write and illustrate my own short stories. Drawing on pieces of printer paper I folded in half, stacking them, and stapling them together.
-
Got really interested in reading and would read all kinds of books. I loved "Harry Potter" and "Percy Jackson". I would often take books out at the library.
-
From 2020 to 2023, I had lost all interest in reading. I would only read if I was required to and would only do as little as I needed.
-
After watching "The Hunger Games" movies, I wanted to read the books. Reading the series made me passionate about reading again. I remember waking up super early before school so I could read.

Now, I love reading. I started out reading mysteries in order to keep me hooked but have since gotten into many genres. It was hard for me to find time for reading but now I prioritize it and do it during my free time. I've read numerous books this year.
