Paul Feyerabend is a famous philosopher of science who was born on January 1st, 1924 in Vienna, Austria. His most notable work includes the theory of Epistemological Anarchism, which led to his rejection of universal methodological rules. He was also very influential in the field of sociology of scientific knowledge. -
Against Method and Epistemological Anarchism
Against Method by Paul Feyerabend was published in 1975. This thesis focused on the idea of embracing the lack of any useful method or tradition with which we might define the field of science and accepting the idea that full on creative and out-of-the-box thinking was the way to go in regards to the philosophy of science. -
Paul Feyerabend Death
Paul Feyerabend died on February 11th, 1994 in Genolier, Vaud, Switzerland. His cause of death was an inoperable brain tumor. His theories behind Epistemological Anarchism influenced the scientific community in a completely different way than the other giants during this time such as Imre Lakota and Larry Lauden as their focus was on the more methodical side of philosophy of science. -
