Tim Burton began his career as an apprentice animator at Walt Disney Studios. He made the stop-motion movie Vincent. Burton developed an interest in drawing and filmmaking at a young age, went to the California Institute of the Arts, and subsequently worked as an animator for Disney Productions. Burton directed his first feature film, Pee-Wee’s Big Adventure, in 1985 after creating a number of short films, such as the horror-movie homage Frankenweenie (1984).
