The narrator was reading late one night when he heard a soft tap on his door. -
Then he opens a window and called it nothing and nothing more. -
The he pleaded to the raven saying "God has sent you, " he cried " to help me forget my grief for Lenore". then the bird said " nevermore" -
He cried to the raven " are you test me are you creature from the underworld" . -
Then a lark black raven came in and flew straight to a statue of Athena the goddess of wisdom the bird sat there and nothing more. -
He pulled up his chair in front the raven then he began to think why was the raven here. -
The raven still sits there on the statue above my door and he says he is trapped in the raven's shadow. -
He remembered a dark cold december night when his beautiful woman was gone forever. -
He opened the door and there was nothing except darkness. -
His curtains started to move by the wind and someone knocking at his door. -
He was staring into the emptiness of the open door and he whispered out "Lenore?' then he heard an echo that said "Lenore". -
Then he asked the bird one simple question " what is your name" the bird replied and it said " Nevermore" -
He was amazed how the raven could talk even if it was a simple word like nevermore -
Surely he says one word the raven he probably had a sad owner -
He sat there for a long time thinking and then thought the ravens eyes. -
He is asking the bird if he will ever see his beloved Lenore again -
Then he saying go back into the storm and don't comeback I don't want to see it again. -
The raven sat there quietly like it only knew that word then he thought that the raven would leave him like his friends.
