  • Established in Germany

    The Christian community was founded in September of 1922. Rudolf Steiner, who is known as a spiritual scientist, helped group of 45 men and women gather together to create what was to come as The Christian community. Most of the members were 30 and under but they all had the same belief to recognize the spiritual giant that would lead them to religious renewal.
  • Expansion

    Within the first few years the movement had spread to other countries such as The Netherlands and Czechoslovakia. Even though these countries had their own languages their ties with Germany were strong and they carried their work into other countries and further expanded the movement. In 1929 The Christian Community began in London.
  • First female Priest

    In London in 1939, Evelyn Capel became the first English women to become a priest in the Christian Community. After WWII she brought back the Christian Community in Germany and also expanded it to South Africa.
  • Growth

    In Germany of 1945, the Christian Community was newly founded at Pentecost. The community has grown in all large cities in Germany.
  • Beyond Europe

    In 1948 there was a big decision to take this community beyond Europe. The Christian Community was founded in America..
  • More Spreading

    In the 1960 the religious movement had spread to South america and South Africa.
  • Movement Spread

    In 1988 the movement had Spread to Australia and New Zealand.
  • Movement spread

    The movement has now spread to Japan.
