New deal timeline

  • First new deal

    Aimed to directly help states to fund projects. As well as help the unemployed and less fortunate. It was a relief and was apart of the first new deal.
  • Tennessee Valley Authority

    The Tennessee Valley Authority was made to build dams to generate electricity in the Tennessee Valley. This was a recovery and was apart of the First New Deal
  • Home Owner's Loan Corporation

    This corporation was made in order to regulate mortgages to a lower interest rate. This was a recovery and was apart of the First New Deal.
  • Civil Works Administration

    The Civil Works Administration was established to put unemployed people to work for government buildings. They were able to build schools, roads, etc. This was a type of relief and was apart of the first New Deal
  • Securities Exchange Act

    Was made to regulate the stock market and prevent another crash in the future. It also worked to be more transparent to the American people regarding the status of the economy. This was a reform and was apart of the First New Deal
  • Resettlement administration

    Relief/recovery effort made to relocate those struggling on farms to better land
  • Rural electrification administration

    This was a recovery/reform that monitored loans to bring electricity to areas with smaller population.
  • National Youth administration

    Relief effort made to provide part time jobs and education aid for students in highschool and college.
  • Soil conservation and domestic atollment act

    Reform effort that encouraged sustainable farming methods with rewards to farmers who helped to prevent things like the dust bowl from happening
  • Fair labor standards act

    Reform effort that established minimum wage and maximum work hours- also prohibited opressive child labor. helped shape modern labor standards
