The gang had decided to deliberately stage a final confrontation at Glenrowan. Ned Kelly had hoped this would stir up a rebellion.
The police ended up burning the hotel they were in, as Joe Bryne left the hotel they shot him and Dan Kelly and Steve Hart died in the fire. -
