Before I started Kindergarten by dad started to read chapter books to me to introduce me to reading. The most memorable book that he read to me was Charlottes Web. -
I remember reading books like "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom" and "Fly Guy" in my first grade class. I was not reading much at home because it was hard for me. -
I remember really hating reading when I was in third grade. My parents thought it would be a great idea to take me to the library each week to pick out a book and write a report on the book. I hated doing this and I hated having to read in general. -
In 4th grade, we read "The BFG" as a class and I remember loving that book. I decided to pick up another book by the same author, "The Witches" and I could not put it down. I also read "Matilda" and Roald Dahl soon became my favorite author. -
In 5th grade, I started to read more books. I loved "Dork Diaries" and "The Magic Treehouse" book series. -
In 6th grade, I did not read books on my own time. I only read books for school. I remember reading "Wonder" as a class and it was the first book to make me cry. -
The summer before 7th grade, I got my phone taken away so I spent all summer reading. I read the whole "Michael Vey" book series in two weeks and started to read Percy Jackson as well. -
When I was in 8th grade, I was not very interested in reading. I remember reading "Animal Farm" in my geography class for whatever reason. I found that book very boring and often fell asleep while reading it. I think I was too young to understand the themes of the book because I think it is a great book now. -
During 2020, I was very bored and tired of watching so much TV so I picked up reading again. I bought a lot of books online and began to read them. I really enjoyed it! -
In my senior year, we read "The Glass Castle" in class and it was an amazing book. I helped me get out of a reading funk. -
My book collection has grown over the years, now I have over 100 books. -
I have always loved The Harry Potter movies, but this year I am trying to read all of the books. I recently bought the book series for myself and am currently on the fourth book. I read the first book when i was younger, but I never read the rest of the series.
