When I was 5 years old my brother, Cyrus was born. Having a baby brother at that age taught me I wasn't always going to get 100% of the attention 24/7(This was also before kindergarten began) and I have to be more independent in order to help others around me. The agent of socialization was family.

When I was about 10 years old COVID struck hard across the U.S. and the world. When staying inside all day 24/7, only interacting with family and taking online school, a sense of isolation was developed. Staying inside all day was normalized and still today I prefer to stay in than go out. Agents of socialization include peers, family, and school.

At 12 years old my parents got a divorce. I was taught how to adapt and change between different environments frequently and keep track and create a schedule to help my parents understand my schedule without them communicating as often. This type of scozilation applies to family.

When I was 14 years old I began freshman year of highschool. During the first year I realized I needed to manage my time to fit in homework and find the best way for me to process information/study. I found that getting work done right away and taking notes helps me learn easiest. This set my base for studying and helped me be a better, more efficient student. This type of socialization is school.

When I was 14 years old me and my mom got a cat. New jobs and chores were added to make sure our cat was safe and healthy. I developed a sense of responsibility for my cat and a schedule for when she would be fed, when I clean her litter box, sometimes brushing her so I wouldn't put it off and procrastinate. This agent of socialization was family.
