Marco Polo was born in Venice.
His parents were Niccolò Polo and Nicole Anna Defuseh. Marco lived his entire childhood with his parents and his grandpa Andrea Polo. -
The Polo brothers bought a house in Constantinople, a territory conquered by the Venetians, and lived there for a few years. The Venetians created a neighborhood and control the port.
But the local citizens of Constantinople started a war and the Polo brothers are forced to sell their house and buy a house in Soldaya. -
Marco asked the far-east travelers that return to Venice what they have seen. And they explained Marco's complete works of fiction. There were stories about a country full of human-dog hybrids, fire-breathing dragons, and mystical unicorns. Marco was intrigued and wanted to start a journey as soon as possible.

When Marco Polo was 15 years old met his father and his uncle for the first time in his life, after the arrival of his journey in Armenia and Afghanistan.

He left with his uncle and his father from Venice for the Far East. They traveled for 3 years crossing and finding out a lot of new cultures and animals of Asia, along the Silk Road, and arrived at the court of Kublai Khan three years later. They were staying in China for 17 years.

When he returned to Venice they were at war against the Republic of Genoa.
During the course of the battle Marco was captured and imprisoned by the Genoese. -
Inside the prison, he met the writer Rustichello of Pisa, who recounted his fabulous journeys, which were the subject of the book Wonders of the World.

After being released he becomes a rich merchant and member of the great council of the Republic of Venice.

He gets married to Donata Badoer at the age of 46. In the Saint Lorenzo church, Venezia.

He died in Venice at the age of 70.
He was buried in the church of San Lorenzo. -
The legend has it that on his deathbed Marco was required to confess that his book was all fairy tales. Marco answered that he hadn't described even half of the wonders he had seen.

His sarcophagus and Niccolò's sarcophagus disappeared during the reconstruction of the saint Lorenzo church in Venecia.
