The birth of Marco Polo
Marco Polo was born in Venice.
His parents were Niccolò Polo and Nicole Anna Defuseh. Marco lived his entire childhood with his parents and his grandpa Andrea Polo. -

The brothers Polo in Constantinople
The Polo brothers bought a house in Constantinople, a territory conquered by the Venetians, and lived there for a few years. The Venetians created a neighborhood and control the port.
But the local citizens of Constantinople started a war and the Polo brothers are forced to sell their house and buy a house in Soldaya. -

The intention of Marco Polo
Marco asked the far-east travelers that return to Venice what they have seen. And they explained Marco's complete works of fiction. There were stories about a country full of human-dog hybrids, fire-breathing dragons, and mystical unicorns. Marco was intrigued and wanted to start a journey as soon as possible. -

The meeting of Niccolò and Maffeo
When Marco Polo was 15 years old met his father and his uncle for the first time in his life, after the arrival of his journey in Armenia and Afghanistan. -

His first trip
He left with his uncle and his father from Venice for the Far East. They traveled for 3 years crossing and finding out a lot of new cultures and animals of Asia, along the Silk Road, and arrived at the court of Kublai Khan three years later. They were staying in China for 17 years. -

Marco Polo and the great Khan
Marco Polo becomes the advisory of the Great Khan,who entrust Marco to guard the entire empire . During his stay, he travels to India and to various regions of the empire, while his father and uncle become rich with trade. -

After a journey of three and a half years, Marco (at the age of 17) Niccolò, and Maffeo finally arrived at the Khan's court in his summer capital of Shangdu. -

They start the journey back to Venice, but with the condition of helping the princess to marriage with the Persian prince. -

When an embassy from the king of Persia asks Kublai Khan for a princess for the king, the Polos accompany her, deciding to return to Venice. -

After spending 23 years in Kublai Khan's service, they returned to Venice. Sailing on an epic travel via Vietnam, Sumatra, Sri Lanka and the Persian Gulf. -

Marco Polo is captured
When he returned to Venice they were at war against the Republic of Genoa.
During the course of the battle Marco was captured and imprisoned by the Genoese. -

Write the book of the wonders of the world
Inside the prison, he met the writer Rustichello of Pisa, who recounted his fabulous journeys, which were the subject of the book Wonders of the World. -

After being released he becomes a rich merchant and member of the great council of the Republic of Venice. -

The marriage of Marco Polo
He gets married to Donata Badoer at the age of 46. In the Saint Lorenzo church, Venezia. -

He died in Venice at the age of 70.
He was buried in the church of San Lorenzo. -

The Legend of Marco Polo.
The legend has it that on his deathbed Marco was required to confess that his book was all fairy tales. Marco answered that he hadn't described even half of the wonders he had seen. -
His sarcophagus disappeared
His sarcophagus and Niccolò's sarcophagus disappeared during the reconstruction of the saint Lorenzo church in Venecia.
