    The Holocaust

    By the end of the war, holocaust had a new meaning, the mass murder of 6 million European Jews. Because of Hitler and Nazi Germany, death camps, concentration camps and many rules were created to belittle Jews.

    Germany invades Poland

    On September 1st, Nazi Germany invaded Poland. On the 2nd, the British warned them to withdraw or war would start, and by the 3rd, it did. By the 18th, Poland's government and military leaders fled. Poland was taken over for the fourth time in it's history on September 28th.
  • Bombing of Pearl Harbor

    Bombing of Pearl Harbor
    On December 7th, the Japanese held a surprise attack on the military base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. More than 2,400 Americans died in the attack, and about another 1,00 were injured. The next day, war was declared on Japan.

    Japanese Internment Camps

    After the bombing of Pearl Harbor, many Japaneses were rounded up and put into the camps. This is now known as the most violated act on the 20th century.

    D-Day

    On June 6th, the Allies stepped foot on the beaches and began to secure the beaches, with in the next couple of weeks, Normandy was against the Nazi.
  • Victory in Europe

    Victory in Europe
    This is the day when Nazi Germany surrender. The Allies had won and the Jews were released from the concentration camps.
  • Bombing of Hiroshima

    Bombing of Hiroshima
    This is the day that the US dropped the atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The bomb wiped out 90% of the city. Even after this, JApan did not surrender
  • V-J Day

    V-J Day
    This is the day that Japan surrendered, which ended World War 2. Truman announced that "this is the day Fascism finally dies".
