The 13th amendment
The 13th Amendment abolished slavery and helped free many slaves up to four million slaves. the 13th amendment didn't end slavery and there where still a large number of slaves. -
The 14th amendment
The 14th Amendment gave anyone regardless of their race citizenship as long as they were born in the us now this was good but it didn't protect them or give them rights. -
The third enforcement act
This act was designed to prevent the vigilantism of the KKK using US armed forces if necessary. -
The 15th amendment
The 15th amendment made it so all men black or white previous slave or free could vote but Congress made a loophole so they could only vote if they passed a literacy test or paid poll taxes which was difficult due to African Americans not having a good source of income or a education. -
The first enforcement act
It was an attempt to reduce the use of violence and intimidation to keep black voters from exercising their right to vote. -
The second enforcement act
This act specified the national elections would be under the control of the federal government and US marshals could be used to supervise polling sites. -
The civil rights act of 1875
This act guaranteed equal rights separate but equal but it didn't say it had to be the exact same items just the same product one side could have nicer items than the other.
