    In 1817, in Germany, Baron Karl Von Drais made the first ever bicycle.

  • Underground Railway

    Opened in 1863, The Metropolitan Railway between Paddington and Farringdon was the first underground railway in the world.

  • Gas Car

    In Mannheim, Germany, Karl Benz made the first automobile that ran on gas. It was the first car that had gasoline.

    The first practical electric car was the Flocken Elektrowagen, designed by German engineer Andreas Flocken in 1888. This prototype had a top speed of 9 miles per hour.
