Saul was born to Kish. Kish was his father. His mother is unknown. -
Saul's donkeys went missing so he and servant went searching for them. He ended up in the region that Samuel lived. That was the first time that the prophet and soon-to-be king met. -
Saul was anointed as king of Israel. He was the first king. At first he was humble but as his reign continued he started straying away from God. -
Jonathon was the first born son into Saul's family. Jonathon grew up to be a loyal friend of David. He also had a crippled son.

Saul reigned over Israel for about 40 years. While he was king, he changed drastically. His riches and success made him greedy and jealous of everyone. However, he was very humble and gracious in the beginning of his reign.

After Saul conquered a city, he was commanded from God to destroy everything in it. Instead of listening, Saul thought that it would be ok to save some sheep for eating and sacrifice. When Samuel found out, he was very disappointed in Saul. -
Saul started making some questionable decisions towards the end of his reign. One of them was that he cursed some food before his army was to fight. In the end, they ate raw meat which is breaking the law because they weren't allowed to. -
Saul had a jealousy problem. When people started praising David for his success, Saul became jealous. He was so jealous that he tried to kill David twice but failed both times. -
Another one of Saul's fatal decisions was to make a sacrifice before Samuel came. It was customary that Samuel made a sacrifice before a war so that God would be with them. When Saul made the sacrifice, he was punished by no longer being king.

Saul reigned for about 40 years so he was probably around 60-70 when he died. He was fighting in a battle and was severely injured. In order to not get caught and tortured by the opponents, he killed himself with his spear. His sons also died in the same battle. -
David reigned over Israel for 40 years. He was one of the best kings Israel ever had. He made mistakes but always went to God when realizing what he had done was wrong.

Amnon loved his half sister(Absolom's full sister) Tamar. Amnon raped Tamar and Absolam was so angry at Amnon that he killed him. Absolam then fled in fear of being killed or punished by David. -
David lived a long and fulfilled life. He died of old age. His kingdom was passed onto Solomon. -
Solomon reigned for about 40 years. His reign was very peaceful because he was friends with most of the other kings. He was however swayed by all his wives and ended up worshipping their gods.

Solomon built an extravagant temple. It was built like the tabernacle but it was stationary, way way huger, and more expensive. It was covered in gold and looked pretty nice. -
Solomon died of natural causes when he was 80 years old. He reigned for about 60 years(maybe). His son Rehoboam was his successor. -
Rehoboam was Solomon's son that succeeded him to the throne. He was 40 years old when he was anointed king. He died 17 years later. He was king when Israel was torn in half due to his bad decisions. He reigned over Judah.

Abijah was a bad king. He sinned like his father and throughout his whole life, he was at war with Jeroboam. He reigned three years over Israel till he died and his son Asa took the throne.

Asa reigned 41 years over Judah. He was good king and took away all the evil high places and eliminated his grandma as queen. Near the end of his life, he got a bad sickness in his feet but didn't trust God to heal him which resulted in him dying.

Nadab reigned in Israel for 2 years. He reigned at the same time as Asa. Baasha killed him shortly after he was anointed.

Baasha was a bad king. He killed Nadab in order to be king. He, however, died a natural death. He reigned over Israel.

Elah was also a bad king like Baasha. He was so bad that God sent a punishment on him. Zimri completed the punishment by killing Elah, his family, and his friends. He reigned over Israel.

Zimri killed Elah and became king over Israel. He was king for only seven days! Everyone started following Omri so Zimri burned his kingdom with himself in it.

There was a huge drought throughout the land. There was literally no water left- or close to that. Elijah was fleeting from Ahab because Ahab sought to kill him.

Elijah tested the Baal prophets on Mt. Carmel. After praying to their god and cutting themselves up, they gave up. Elijah prayed and God sent fire down on the altar. -
When Elijah was getting older and tired of his job maybe, he appointed Elisha to be the next prophet after him. Elisha was out in a field working when Elijah passed by. He followed after Elijah and never turned back. -
Ahab reigned over Israel. He was a very very bad king. He married Jezebel which didn't help anything. He was killed by a stray arrow. His wife was killed when she fell out a window and was eaten by dogs.

Jehoshaphat reigned over Judah for a long time. He was a good king because he followed God. His one downfall was helping evil people do evil things.

While Elijah was teaching his prophet trainees, he sent them to a river to cut down trees. Someone's ax head flew off into the river. Elijah threw a stick in and the ax floated to the surface. They retrieved it and were a little more careful. -
Jehoram married Ahab's daughter. He reigned for 11 years. He reigned over Judah

The King of Syria was trying to attack Israel but every time, Elisha would get in the way. The commander sent the army to Elisha to kill him. Elisha surrounded the village with a heavenly fiery army. He then blinded the eyes of all the men and led them into the capitol. They gave the men supper, unblinded them, and sent then home. -
Ahaziah reigned over Israel for 1 year. He was the son of Ahab. He died from falling through a lattice and getting sick.

Athaliah was Ahab's daughter and was married to Jehoram. She was a very bad queen and reigned over Judah. She was killed by the people when they annointed Joash.

Joash hid for 6 years in the temple of the Lord. He was anointed king over Judah when he was 7 years old. He turned to idols after Jehoida the priest died and was stoned to death by his people.

Amaziah was a good king but wasn't as good as David. He ruled over Judah and started reigning when he was 25. Amaziah and Jehoash fought against each other and Judah was defeated. Amaziah died from his wounds and his 16 year old son took his place.

Jeroboam II reigned 41 years. He was evil in the sight of the Lord. His son, Zechariah took his place after he died.

He reigned over Judah. He had 2 names Azariah and Uzziah. He was a pretty good king until he tried to make an offering by himself. He got leprosy and died later. His son took his place.

Mannaseh was the worst king that Judah ever had. He reigned for 55 years and sacrificed his own children. God punished him by being tortured and imprisoned by the Babylonians. He humbled himself in prison, was let go, and worshipped and served God the rest of his life.

He tore down the high places and other evil things when he was only 16 and began rebuilding the temple when he was 26. He found the Book of the Law. Josiah was killed by the Egyptian Pharaoh in a battle he should not have fought.
