A British philosopher who was schooled at the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge while also later teaching at Oxford. His work focuses on the study of life sciences while he is the director of Egenis, the Centre for the Study of Life Sciences. Dupre advocates in the idea of physical reductionism in which he believes that the world has an inherently pluralistic structure. Dupre was elected to be a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in lieu of his work on Darwinism. in 2010. Shortly after he became the President of the British Society of Science from 2011-2013. And on Jan 1, 2019 He will be appointed as President elect for the Philosophy of Science Association. Which he will be president from 2021-2022. -
