God takes Abraham out to see the stars and tells him he will have as many descendants as the stars. He promises to him that he will make a great nation and make his name great. As always, God's promise came true.
It is important because without his descendants Jesus wouldn't have been born. -
Joseph had dreams that his brothers would bow down to him. His brothers also sold him into slavery. With God's help Joseph got to be the vizier. There was a big famine so Joseph's brothers came to get food.
If Joseph wasn't the vizier, then Abraham's nation wouldn't grow. -
The last plague was when God told his people to take a lamb, kill it and smear it's blood on their door frame so the angel of death wont kill their firstborn son.
It is special because Jesus is the lamb and his blood covers us, so it shows that Jesus saves us by dying on the cross for our sins. -
Pharoah eventually let the Israelites go, but then Pharoah changed his mind so he began chasing them. God told Moses to lift his staff over the sea and it will part. So he did and they crossed safely.
If God wouldn't of parted the Red Sea, the Israelites would have been killed. -
God's people were slaves so God sent Moses to free them. He sent Moses to Pharaoh and told him to say, "Let my people go!" But, he didn't listen, so God sent ten plagues.
If God wouldn't have let his people go, we might still be slaves. -
God gave Moses a special set of rules called the ten commandments.
If God wouldn't of given Moses the ten commandments, we wouldn't know how to serve God and obey him. -

The Israelites wandered in he desert for 40 years. But God kept providing for them.
If God wouldn't of provided food and water for them they would have died. -
The Israelites crossed the Jordan and got to Canaan. While they were there the fought a ton of battles such as, Ai, Amorites, and Jericho.
God shows how powerful he is while his people are in Canaan. -
God told Gideon that he has to save Israel from Midian. So he collected some people but God said he had to many and told the people that if they were to scared they could go. But STILL God said there were to many people. So God took Gideon to water and told him to separate those who lapped up water and those who kneeled down to drink water and told him to send away the people who kneeled down. He defeated them by smashing jars lighting torches and blowing trumpets.
God can do anything! -
Samson liked a girl named Delilah. She wanted to find out why he was so strong. So, she annoyed him into telling her it was because of his hair. So the Philistines gouged his eyes out and took him to prison. Later, the Philistines wanted him to entertain them. So he came out and he asked God to renew his strength. So God did and he collapsed the temple.
We are strong through God. -
