Ignatius decided to join the spanish army in 1521. While he was busy with the war he ended up wounding his leg badly. While he was in his bed healing, he decided he wanted to read, but his hospital didn't have books of his interest except for books about christ. -
Ignatius was the youngest out of his 13 siblings in his family. Ignatius grew up around the time that the Christopher columbus was popular, and dreamed of gaining fame in battle; which led him to join the army.
After he decided to change his life over to God he decided to work hard to become a priest.
