    Classical

    Classical
This worldview lasted from 500 BC through 500 AD. They valued Mind, Body, Emotions, and Soul. This picture I selected is one of a building in Greece made in the Classical period. I selected this, because this era is mainly characterized by Greece and Rome, and this was a very popular building in that time. When I think of Classical Greece, this type of picture comes to mind.
  • 500

    Medieval

    Medieval
This lasted from 500 AD through 1500 AD. They valued Religion, community, and tradition. I picked this picture because it shows the type of vibe the medieval era was apparently like. The buildings in the background have distinctive medieval features, such as timber-framed construction, narrow streets, arches, and towers. The picture also tells a story of what the era was like.
  • 1300

    Renaissance

    Renaissance
This lasted from 1300 through 1700. They valued Humanism, individualism, and classical learning. I selected this painting because it was created in the renaissance era and really shows the type of art that they did. If you didn't know that it was painted in the renaissance period, then it would be pretty easy to guess, which is another reason why I chose it. It is also arguably the most well-known painting in the world, so I thought it would be a good fit.
  • Enlightenment

    Enlightenment
This worldview started in 1650 through 1800. They valued reason, freedom, and knowledge. I chose this piece of art because it is just one of my favorite paintings. It was made in the Enlightenment era, and it definitely shows by the style of painting. It also embodies what the people in that era stood for.
  • Romantic

    Romantic
This was from 1780 through 1850. They valued Nature, innocence, and intuition. This painting is called "Wanderer above the Sea of Fog", and it was painted in 1818. I selected this piece of art because once again, I genuinely like the painting a lot. I think it represents the Romantic Era well, and it shows the type of art that was popular.
  • Victorian

    Victorian
This lasted from 1830 through 1900. It was named after Queen Victoria. I picked this picture simply because it is Queen Victoria, which the Victorian era was named after. By choosing this portrait, its highlighting the era’s obsession with monarchy as a stabilizing and moral force. Also, what she is wearing represents what the style was like in that time period.
  • Modern

    Modern
This worldview was from 1900 through 1970. They valued rationality and science. I picked this piece of art because it was created in the Modern era, and it shows what the art style was like. When I was little, my art teacher had a copy of this painting on the wall, so I am very familiar with this type of art, which I have grown to love.
  • Post-Modern

    Post-Modern
This was from 1960 through 2000. There was really no common belief. This piece of art is by Andy Warhol and was created in the Post-Modern period. The repeated Coca-Cola bottles are a representation of Pop Art, which emerged in the postmodern period. I actually took inspiration from this piece of art for another Humanities project.
  • Post-Post Modern

    Post-Post Modern
This is from 2000+. Once again, there is not really a common belief. I picked this piece of art for the Last era, which is the Post-Post Modern era. I selected it because it shows all of the new technology that we have today. Having this as my last picture shows all how the world has advanced over time.
