    In this Time-Toast i will be writing about how the tourism industry started. Travel and Tourism began in the ancient times with motivations rooted in religious, trade and curiosity. it was simply exemplified by the Greek and Roman travel to religious sites and resort. It is accepted that the modern-day tourism industry originates in the European Grand Tour.

    By the 1700s and 1800s spa town became extremely popular across Europe.

    The first package was in 1949, it was organized by Vladimir Raitz, He took 32 passengers to Corsica on a DC3 airplane. it costed them £32.50. This packaged holiday included an accommodation in tents, return flights, transfers and full board. Vladimir Raitz established the horizon holidays in the same year. By the end of the 1950s the company had grown to be the UKs most best tour operators

    The increase leisure time has come about primarily use due to paid holidays entitlement.
    In the UK there is a one day bank holiday or annual leave.
    it is a legal requirement for employers to give their staff paid holidays, and now most of the employees have at least 4 week holidays each year

    he mainly flew low cost charter airlines. The success of early budget carriers such as south west airlines, encouraged to offer more competitive pricing to keep passengers engaged.

    the internet originally started in the 1960s as a way for the government researchers to share information.
    In January 1983 the internet was considered their official birthday. The various computer did not have a standard way to communicate to each other. A new communication protocol was established called transfer control protocol/ internet protocol (TCIP/IP)

    Package and linked travel arrangements

    package- types of holidays like a city break, a beach holiday and more.
    essentially a package holiday is when you buy 2 or more travel services together. it must include it being a 24 hour stay, accommodation, and 2 types of travel services.
    however a linked arrangement is the types of services covered by linked arrangements is transport, car rental, accommodation and a tourist service.
