First Indy 500
The Indy 500 is a automobile race that is 500 miles. At the time, the surface of the track was made of dirt. Most drivers wore either leather, cloth, or no helmets during this race. Seatbelts were also not used in this race and so were roll bars. If someone were to flip their car, they would be crushed. That is why many racers have said they would never race again because of how dangerous it was. https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/one-hundred-years-of-the-indy-500-158836397/ -

Future?
In the future of racing, I think that many things will change. Like what kind of engines/motors the cars will have and if they will be electric or not. I also think that there will be a safety improvements for all spectators, and drivers. Maybe the cars will get up to 300 miles per hour, and the drivers still have control over them. But most likely what would happen, is changing the type of fuel used in the engines to help with performance, and emissions.
