    Nazis concentrated on silencing political opponents and anyone who spoke out against the government.
  • Persecution Begins

    Hitler took power of Germany and ordered all non-Aryans to be removed from government jobs.
  • Jewish persecution Increased

    The persecution of Jews increased. Nuremberg laws stripped Jews of German citizen ship, jobs, and property. The Jews had to wear a yellow star of David.

    Kristallnacht "Night of Broken Glass"

    Nazi storm troopers attacked Jewish houses, businesses, and synagogues in Germany and Austria. Main streets were littered with shattered glass.
  • St. Louis

    German ocean liner passed Miami. The Coast Guard followed the ship to prevent anyone from disembarking in America. The ship was forced to return to Europe.
  • The Final Solution

    The final solution rested on the belief that Aryan people were superior. The Nazis started to enslave and kill Jews and other groups that were viewed as unworthy or as enemies of the state.
  • Death Camps

    Germany built six death camps in Poland. One of them was Chelmno, it started operating in 1941. Each on of the camps had several gas chambers which killed many people. Auschwitz was the largest of the death camps. they had to parade by several SS doctors, these doctors would separate those strong enough to work and those who would die. The ones that were going to die were led to gas chambers.
