Andrew Carnegie- Steel

Andrew Carnegie was a Scottish-American industrialist and philanthropist. Carnegie led the expansion of the American steel industry in the late 19th century and became one of the richest Americans in history. He became a leading philanthropist in the United States and in the British Empire.

President McKinley Assassinated

1901

William McKinley was the 25th president of the United States, serving from 1897 until his assassination in 1901.

WWI Begins

The immediate cause of World War I that made the aforementioned items come into play was the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. When Russia began to mobilize due to its alliance with Serbia, Germany declared war on Russia.

WWII Begins

World War II began in Europe on September 1, 1939, when Germany invaded Poland. Great Britain and France responded by declaring war on Germany on September 3. The war between the U.S.S.R. and Germany began on June 22, 1941, with the German invasion of the Soviet Union.

The Cold War was a period of ideological and geopolitical tension between the United States and the Soviet Union, and their respective allies, the Western Bloc and the Eastern Bloc, after World War II.
