  • German Blitzkrieg(1939-1940)

    Germany quickly overran much of Europe and was victorious for more than two years by relying on this new military tactic of "Blitzkrieg." Blitzkrieg," a German word meaning “Lightning War,” was Germany's strategy to avoid a long war. Blitzkreig helped them to quickly capture and secure their position of dominance in mainland Europe.

    On December 7, 1941, the Japanese military launched a surprise attack on the United States Naval Base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. By attacking Pearl Harbor Japan believes that it can severely cripple the U.S fleet and buy them time in the Pacific and Southeast Asia. The attack on Pearl Harbor marked the entry of the world's mightiest military power into World War II
  • Wannsee Conference

    Wannsee Conference
    On January 20, 1942, 15 high-ranking Nazi Party and German government officials gathered at a villa in the Berlin suburb of Wannsee to discuss and coordinate the implementation of what they called the "Final Solution of the Jewish Question." It happened because it was Hitlers Final Solution of the Jewish Question” (mass killing). The Wannsee Conference caused the mass murder of jews and other race.

    D-Day
    On 6 June 1944 – 'D-Day' – Allied forces launched the largest amphibious invasion in the history of warfare. Codenamed Operation 'Overlord', the Allied landings on the beaches of Normandy marked the start of a long and costly campaign to liberate north-west Europe from Nazi occupation. D-Day was born in the immediate aftermath of America's entry into the war, and agreement on a 'Germany first' strategy. D-Day put the Allies on a decisive path toward victory.

    Battle of the Bulge
    The Battle of the Bulge started on December 16, 1944, when German forces launched a surprise attack on Allied forces in the forested Ardennes region in Belgium, Luxembourg, and France. It was a last-ditch German military counter-offensive against the Allied armies in the West. Hitler hoped that the German counter-attack would surround the British and American armies and stall the Allied offensive against Germany. This battle marked the last German offense on the Western Front.

    The Liberation of concentration camps was the allies taking down all down all the concetration camps. It happened because it was in humane and the allies realized that. The impact is it showed the darkisde of humanity.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    The Japanese of the island were dug into bunkers deep within the volcanic rocks. Approximately 70,000 U.S. Marines and 18,000 Japanese soldiers took part in the battle. In thirty-six days of fighting on the island, 7,000 U.S. Marines were killed, and 20,000 were wounded. It started because japanese fighters taking off from tiny Iwo Jima were intercepting B- 29s, as well as attacking the Mariana airfields. It provide an emergency landing strip for crippled B-29s returning from bombing runs.

    On Victory in Europe Day, or V-E Day, Germany unconditionally surrendered its military forces to the Allies. Day or V-E Day - celebrations erupted around the world to mark the end of World War II in Europe. The impact it had was it ended World War II in Europe.

    Dropping of the atomic bombs
    The first atomic bomb, named Little Boy, was dropped on Hiroshima from the Enola Gay, a B-29 bomber, at 8:15 AM on August 6, 1945. The second bomb, named Fat Man, was dropped on Nagasaki from the Bockscar, also a B-29 bomber, at 11:02 AM on August 9, 1945. They did this because the US wanted to force a quick surrender. The atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki produced effects in Japan and around the world that changed the course of history.

    V-J Day, or Victory over Japan Day, marks the end of World War II. Emperor Hirohito announced the surrender of Imperial Japan to the Allies, making an unprecedented broadcast to his nation. This marked the end of our battle with Japan and World War II. It also made Japann abolish their military, so now we proctect them. It also made them a wealthy country in Asia.
