    The ‘Night of Broken Glass’
    On the night of November 9, 1938, the Nazi authorities coordinated a wave of Jewish violence in Nazi Germany. This became known as the "Night of Broken Glass." It was named for the shattered glass from store windows that littered the streets after the violence.

    During World War II on Augest 6, 1945 America bombed the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki that marked the first use of atomic weapons in war. Tens of thousands were killed from the explosions and many more would later die to radiation poisoning.
