  • The Stock Market Crashed (economical)

    It was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States. The United States economy lost $30 billion in two days.
  • Hitler Takes Power (political)

    This is when all the persecution started, otherwise known as the Holocaust. He was a fasict leader who had a lot of ambition in his ruling of Germany, but later committed suicide near the end of the war.
  • The New Deal was Passed (political)

    This reform was passed by Roosevelt in hope to bring the economy out of the Depression. An example some of the things passed were the NRA (National Recovery Administration).
  • The Rape of Nanking (social)

    The Chinese were invaded by the Japanese resulting in a mass rape and murder. An estimated 200,000 to 300,000 people died.
  • The Munich Pact (political)

    This pact annexed Sudentenland by Germany. It was signed by Chamberlain and Daladier.
  • Night of the Broken Glass (social)

    This event was a series of attacks on the Jewish community. This is part of the Holocaust.
  • The Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact (political)

    This pact states that Germany and the Soviet Union will not attack each other. This pact was broken two years later when Germany attacked the Soviet Union.
  • The Manhattan Project (technological)

    This is when they first devoloped the atom bomb. It was approved by Roosevelt and later used to drop the bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
  • Japan Bombs Pearl Harbor (military)

    This event caused the United States to join WWII against Japan. President Roosevelt claims this event as "a date which will live in infamy."
  • The United States Declares War (political)

    This came the day after the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. As a result, Germany and Italy declared war on the US.
  • The End of Tire Sales (economical)

    This event happened because of the rationing policies that were supposed to aid in the war. After the war, sales were resumed.
  • The US sends Japanese Americans to Internment Camps (social)

    This event comes along right after the Pearl Harbor Bombings. Everyone was weary of them because they thought the Japanese Americans were spies.
  • Rationing of Sugar (ecnomical)

    This was a result of the rationing policies because they were used to aid the soldiers in WWII. It was reduced to 0.5 pounds per person, per week.
  • The Battle of Midway (military)

    This event marks the turning point of the War in the Pacific. The event lasted 4 days and only 6 months after the Pearl Harbor attacks.
  • The Normandy Landings (D-Day) (military)

    This event was the largest seaborne invasion in history. It later led to the Allied victory in WWII
  • Germany Surrenders (political)

    This marks the end of WWII in Europe. Everybody blamed Germany for the war.
  • The Holocaust Ends (social)

    This event killed over 6 million Jews. Their treatment was horrible inside the concentration and death camps as we will never forget this event.
  • The First Atom Bomb was Dropped (technological)

    The bomb, named "Fat Boy" was dropped from the Enola Gay. It resulted in thousands of deaths and one of the only times the atom bomb was dropped, aside from Nagasaki.
  • The Japanese Surrender (political)

    The signing of the treaty resulted in the end of WWII in the Pacific. The treaty was signed onboard the USS Missouri
  • The Nuremberg Trials (social)

    This is when the Nazi War Criminals were tried for war crimes. Most of them were executed or sent to life in prison.
