Gabriel

  • Gabriel's learns too trust his parents

Gabriel (age 3 months) is slowly learning to trust his father and establish a bond with him. While he has already established one with his mother. In Erikson's 1st stage, trust vs mistrust, the hardship is on the ability to trust someone and establish a bond (trust), yet there is uncertainty amongst the infant(mistrust).
  • Gabriel figures out his true identity

Gabriel (age 2) is at the age where he starts to become aware of his behavior. While attending daycare he sees others kids act in different ways. Gabriel then starts to figure out in his head, how he should act or what personality he wants to be. In Erikson's 2nd stage, autonomy vs shame and doubt, the crisis begins when the toddler begins to figure out his/her identity (autonomy).
  • Gabriel's ability to plan activities and see consequences

Gabriel (age 5) is beginning to plan activities all by himself. He plans these activities so that he may get a sense of purpose and gratification. When things do turn out to his liking he becomes upset to the point where he abandons his activity. In Erikson's 3rd stage initiative vs guilt, early childhood; children, begin to plan for daily activities (initiative). When they fail at something they develop a sense of doubt (guilt).
