A famous latin leader is born on this day and his name is Francisco Pizarro. Francisco Pizarro was born in 1476 in Trujillo, Spain. His mother was very poor, but his dad was a Spanish noble.

In 1513, Francisco Pizarro helped Vasco Núñez de Balboa discovered the Pacific Ocean. After conquering Peru, founded its capital city, Lima.

In 1519, he arrested Balboa for treason on behalf of Pedrarias. Betraying his trustworthy and loyal partner that helped him on his expedition.

Pizarro receives funding to make his own expedition and explore the land south of Panama. Pizarro reaches the coast of Colombia, but only finds a small quantity of gold.

In 1524, Francisco Pizarro Formed a partnership with a rich priest, and Almagro to explore Peru. which in the end Almagro’s supporters stabbed Pizarro to death.

In 1527, Pizarro and thirteen other men refuse to return to Panama until he found gold. They finally returned when finding silver, gold and jewelry.

Francisco took another expedition to Peru where he claimed the land for Spain. He traveled with his 3 half-brothers. He held the Inca’s leader and made them paid the ransom but he killed their leader anyway.

Atahuallpa offers a massive ransom for his release. The Inca Emperor offered his captives enough gold to fill the 22 foot room. The ransom was collected.

Pizarro founded Lima, Peru which he called Ciudad de los Reyes meaning "City of the Kings." Francisco Pizarro destroyed the Inca capital of Cusco.

Lima, Peru, Francisco Pizarro’s death was a violent one. He was eating supper when there was yelling down stairs to kill Pizarro. His two half brothers helped them fight off but they were killed, and soon after Francisco Pizarro was killed. He was 70 years old.
