Jordan Haworth Peele was born on February 21, 1929 in New York City and was raised by his mother on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.

Jordan attended The Computer School, a public middle school on the Upper West Side of Manhattan before being promoted into high school.

After watching many movies such as Glory, Edward Scissorhands, Thelma Louise, and Aliens. He became inspired by these films and intrigued his interests in movies and directing.

He attended The Calhoun School which was a private progressive high school in New York City.

After graduating high school Jordan got accepted to Sara Lawrence College in New York and decided to major in theatre.

He ended up studying theater and puppetry but eventually dropped out after about two years to pursue comedy.

Dropping out of college Jordan decided to pursue his career in comedy instead.

After dropping out of college he then joined an improv company Boom Chicago, where he met his soon to be partner, Keegan‑Michael Key.

Peele joined the Boom Chicago improv troupe in Amsterdam.

Jordan Peele began shifting away from comedy and toward horror during the later years of Key Peele. While he was still actively doing comedy at the time, he has said in interviews that the idea for Get Out had been on his mind for years, and that he was becoming more interested in telling deeper, darker stories.
