  • Bilbo's Party

Bilbo is turning 111th and gives a party, as it is a special occasion and he leaves by using 'the one ring'. Everyone in the Shire but Gandalf is surprised how he disappeared. Bilbo finds 'the one ring' in 'The Hobbit', the prequel to 'The fellowship op the ring', when Gandalf took him on his first journey. Bilbo wants to leave and explore middle-earth Gandalf isn't surprised, because he knows Bilbo has 'the one ring', being the one that took him on a journey in the first place.
  • Gandalf and the ring

Gandalf explains everything about the ring to Frodo, while Sam is listening without them knowing, but Gandalf catches him by the end of the conversation between Gandalf and Frodo. Frodo, with Sam as his companion, has to bring the one ring to Mount Doom to destroy it. This is because the ring contains a part of Sauron, who is trying to reclaim it so he can take human form again and conquer middle-earth.
  • Frodo leaves

Frodo and Sam leave Hobbiton to go to crickhollow, where Frodo's new home is, when they get chased by a Black Rider. Black riders are enslaved by the 9 rings they have and obey Sauron. The one Ring hold power over the 9 rings they posses. Luckily, Frodo and Sam can escape by ferry. After that, they go to Crickhollow, a town near Hobbiton. After spending the night, Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pipping, Frodo's friends, leave Crickhollow, to go meet Gandalf at Bree.
  • Old Forest

They go into the Old forest, a forest full of moving, angry trees. If they want to stay safe, they have to stay on the path the trees have set out. Needing a rest, they sit against a tree, Old man Willow. Willow is a very old tree, who puts them under a spell that puts them to sleep and traps Merry and Pippin. Luckily, Tom Bombadil, an ancient man who lives in the forest, gets them out by commanding the tree to let them free. He takes them to his house and explains why he could do that.
  • Tom Bombadil

They stay with Tom, who tells them all about the forest and why he could free them. At his house, they restock on food, after which they leave to Bree. At Bree they can't find Gandalf, but meet Strider. Strider talks with them and knows more than he should. They don't trust him, but are interested. After an incident with the ring, Strider tells them he is with Gandalf and saves them again in the night when the Black Riders arive at Bree after sensing the ring, because Frodo put it on.
