    Francis Scott Key Fitzgerald is born in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was the third of five children.
  • First Publication

    When he was 14, Fitzgerald appeared in print for the first time with "The Mystery of the Raymond Mortgage" in the St. Paul Academy.
  • Princeton

    Fitzgerald entered Princeton University with the Class of 1917. He soon met men who he remained lifelong friends with, including the writers Wilson and Bishop.
  • First Love

    Fitzgerald meets Ginevra King, which was his first serious love interest and a major influence on several female characters in his later fiction. They date but soon part ways.
  • Traveling to Europe
