  • Hitler invades Austria

    On this day German forces marched into Austria unopposed. The next day Hitler annouced that they were now merged together. The rest of the world said nothing.
  • Battle of Britain

    Summer of 1940, Germany planned to invade Britain but because their ships were no match for the British navy they launch an air assult as well.
  • Pearl Harbor

    Japanese bombers felw low over Pearl Harbor the largest naval base in the Pacific owned by the U.S. They bombed the base which in turned caused the U.S. to enter into WWII.
  • Battle of The Coral Sea

    May 1942, America and Australia used Aircraft to push back Japan's Aircraftcarries. This was the first time since Pearl Harbor that a Japanese invasion had been pushed back.
  • Battle of Midway

    The Allies started "island hoping" meaning they were taking back island after island from the Japanese. These battles were the turning point for the war in the pacific.
  • Stalingrad

    A battle between Russia and Germany over the city of Stalingrad.
  • D-Day

    The Allies invaded Germany with three divisions of troops parachutted behind Germans lines and the next morning evenmore came from boats. The largest land-see-air operation in history.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    German tanks drove 60 miles into Allied territory. It was a last ditch effort in the hopes that being close to winning the war would split up England and the U.S.
  • U.S. bombing of Japan

    The U.S. had started the Manhattan project to start building nuclear weapons. The used these nuclear weapons on two of Japan's cities, Hiroshima and Nagasaki. These bombs end the war and the cities they hit and the surronding ones.
