    On September 1st, 1939, the invasion of Poland began. Germany, Led by Adolf Hitler, a fascist leader, used blitzkrieg, lighting war, to quickly overwhelm Poland. after a short fight Poland surrendered, with over 200,000 lives were lost

    Not to long after france and the allied powers entered the war, france fell to germany. The germans, using the blitzkrieg technique, had found a way to win without long drawn out fights. this quick, lightning war technique, quickly overwhelmed the french and they ended up losing. france was no longer in the war.

    On September 15th, 1940, Germany dropped bombs on london england. and this was the start of The Battle of Britain. during this battle however Britains, Royal Air Force, fought back and successfully defended Great Britain.

    The Lend Lease act was a very smart move played by US President, F.D.R. Because it gave him a way to send Great Britain the supplies they needed to help them recover and keep fighting, in a way that americans, who at the time wanted to stay out of the war, would be fine with and wouldn't be mad about.

    This was one of the major tipping points as this event was what caused the US to enter the war. Japan believed that this would get rid of any thoughts the US had about entering the war. But it did the opposite. Seeing that they were attacked on their home turf US citizens decided it was time to fight back. But this was also the start of all Japanese Americans being herded into the internment camps.

D-Day is when allied forces stormed the shores of Normandy, France, and this was the start of liberation. the allies were starting to liberate western Europe. The Nazi Germans, Hitler, and his supporters knew it wasn't going to get any better from here, their days were numbered

    V-E Day marks the end of the war in Europe. the allies had won in this theater, but the war was still going in the pacific theater and Japan wasn't trying to give up anytime soon. V- E Day is still celebrated in Great Britain to this day.
