  • Battle of Britain

    Battle of Britain
Britain and Germany are battling, and in September 1940 the US gives Britain some old destroyers. In March 1941, the Lend Lease Act is passed, and Adolf Hitler sees this as a declaration of war. He launched Operation Sea Lion, and from June until October the Luftwaffe was engaged in battle with the Royal Air Force. Despite being outnumbered, Britain won this one.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
Hitler, wanting agricultural land, oil, and a broken Soviet military, broke the German-Soviet non-aggression pact and invaded the Soviet Union. For a while his blitzkrieg worked, but the Soviets got smart and moved east, destroying shelters and rails along the way. The German army split into three pieces and waited at the gates of major cities, but their resources were now thousands of miles away and, in the end, it was the Soviets who broke the German military.
  • Operation Torch

    Operation Torch
After the British victory at El Alamein, the Allies began to push Germany back. By 1943, the Axis powers were out of Africa, and the US and Britain prepared a massive bombing campaign against Germany. Americans attacked during the day, while the Royal Air Force attacked during the night. Germany eventually began shooting down the bomber crafts, but technology made it easier for bombers to hit their targets. After this, America, Britain and Russia met and scheduled an invasion of France for 1944.
