Bill Gates was born on October 28th, 1955 in Seattle. -
Bill gates attended Lakeside at the age of 12. This is where Bill would be introduced to computers and start to code. He wrote his first program at the age of 13, which was a tic tac toe game! -
Bill Gates and Paul Allen founded a company called Traf-O-Data as teenagers. Its purposes was to aid in the collection and analysis of traffic data. Sadly due to a poor business model the company failed. -
Due to the founding of Microsoft, Bill Gates decided it was best to drop out of college and pursue his company with Paul Allen. -
Once again, Bill and Paul founded a new company, but this time it was going to become a massive success. By creating a program for the Altair 8800 (Microcomputer developed my MITS), they successfully got it to be bundled with the Altair by contacting MITS! -
Bill and Paul created MS-DOS from another operating system they acquired called QDOS. They then were able to have it bundled with IBM's new personal computer that they began selling in August 1981. -
Due to the success of MS-DOS and advancements in operating systems becoming more user friendly with GUI's. Bill Gates developed and released Windows 1.0 in 1985. It came with mixed opinions, but was extremely valuable in the creation of their future operating systems. -
Bill gates married Melinda Gates in 1994 and had their wedding in Hawaii. Sadly, in 2021 they got divorced. -
The release of 95 was an absolutely historical event, which marked Microsofts biggest achievement so far. It integrated MS-DOS and Windows seamlessly and became the number 1 operating system for personal computers during this time. -
In 1998, Microsoft was sued by the D.O.J. for monopoly abuse, bundling programs, and exclusive deals with other companies. This caused Microsoft to have to be split up into two companies, but this was overturned. Was a very important court case for software companies. -
Bill and his wife created this foundation in 2000. They focused their resources on global health and education which has helped millions of people worldwide. -
Bill decided to step down from CEO so that he could focus on the technological advancement of the company. He still remained as Chief software architect to aid in the advancements and to push them in the right direction. -
Bill gates decided to focus on his philanthropic work in helping created a better world with his wealth that he has earned. He still was Chairman of Microsoft and would continue to aid in decisions of the company. -
Bill was awarded with the Legion of Honor by the French President. This is Frances highest civilian honor and it was received due to his accomplishments in global help and philanthropy work. -
Finally, Bill Gates decided to fully leave the board of microsoft in 2020. He decided this so that he could continue to pursue his philanthropy. He contributed to Covid 19 research as well and continues to purse the health of this world.
