    The Treaty of Cordova

    Treaty of Cordova established in 1821. A treaty that gained Mexico independence from Spain. This ended the Mexican War of Independence. Agustin de Turbine signed the treaty on behalf of Mexico on August 24, 1821. It was formed in Veracruz, Mexico.

    "The plan de iguala and the Iturbide-Guerrero alliance

    In February 24, 1821 the iturbide switched sides and stared negotiating an alliance with the Guerrero. They then made a plan known as "plan de iguala" this plan says that independence under a constitutional monarchy. this plan also said that there will be equality for all the people disregarding race. it promised independence from Spain and Catholicism as a bace religion.

    Execution of José María Morelos

    Jose Maria Morelos was a mexican Catholic priest and a military leader. He was captured by the royalist forces and shot to death, and since his death a major phase in the war caused a rebellion which was organized into a guerrilla campaign. He died on December 22, 1815, he was seen praying before his execution. Before this He became leader after the execution of Miguel Hidalgo y Cosilla.

    Vicente Guerrero was the leader of the Mexican War of Independence. He joined with

    iturbide in 1820. They wanted to set a plan for Iguala to clear a way of Mexico's Independence

    Capture of Miguel Hidalgo

    Miguel Hidalgo army were defeated, and he was captured. the Spanish troops caught him in the battle of Calderon Bridge. This all happened in a town in Mexico called Zapotlanejo some members of his army got away and headed north.

    Grito De Dolores

    The "Cry of Dolores" was one of the first things to start the Mexican war of independence. Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla said he wanted to end the Spanish rule. He made a speech for equality in a church in the city of Dolores.

    In the beginning of 1810 Napoleon forced the abdication of the Spains king who was King Charles the fourth, and he then replaces him with Napoleons brother. This new king then ruled for 5 years.

    Texas declared independence from Mexican government on March 2, 1836. It wads a movement not a new nation. It was signed at Washington -on the Brazos. Mexico achieved their own independence from the Spanish Empire on September 28, 1821.
