Encanto (the movie) happened around 1949, after Casita fell the mountains opened up for the first time. This would eventually lead to El Segundo Milagro which welcomed a new wave of refuges into the Encanto. But also because of this, this would open up some trade with some of the local villages introduce the Encanto to modern technology and culture (this also acts a segue to the global look Encanto was originally going to look like).

At the time Colombia was going through La Violencia, and the many villages surrounding the Encanto sought refuge. There, families set up in the safety of the village little by little and as time went on slowly outside technology and culture were transported into the Encanto, but at the start of the Colombian conflict (based of the attack of Marquetalia) Governmental forces pursued the village people, followed them and the Encanto closed. Some years later El Segundo Milagro became a holiday.
