The Narrator wants the Raven to leave, in which the Raven responds, "Nevermore". -
The Narrator continues to hear tapping back in his chamber but thinks it is the wind. -
The Narrator is reading but becomes interrupted when there is a knock on the door. -
The narrator is sad over the loss of Lenore and is reading books to escape his sadness. -
Curtains are blowing and the narrator continues to question who is at the door. -
The Narrator stares into the darkness thinking of Lenore, when he hears, "Lenore" whispered. -
The Narrator speaks to the visitor, but then he opens the door and sees nothing but darkness. -
The Narrator opens the shutters and in flys a Raven that lands on Pallas. -
The Narrator is put at ease by the Raven. -
The Narrator thinks that the Raven is a sign of Angels here to help him forget his sorrows. -
The Narrator wonders if the Raven is evil or if he is bringing him healing powers. -
The Raven stays and the Narrator feels like his happiness is gone forever. -
The Narrator questions if he will see Lenore in Heaven. The Raven says, "Nevermore".
