    Sir Francis Drake withs his troops burns the Spanish settlement at St. Augustine in Florida.
  • Newfoundland

    The english colonizer Humphrey Gilbert claims this land for the english Queen Elizabeth. He dies in the return voyage.
  • Roanoke Island

    Sir Walter Raleigh sends a group of colonizer to Roanoke island in Virginia.
  • Birth of Virginia Dare

    The first English child born in North America in Roanoke Island.
  • Roanoke colony lost

    All the population at the Roanoke islands disappears mysteriously. We suppose that Indians killed all the population.
  • Cape Cod Settlement

    Bartholomew Gosnold, while exploring, settles in Cape Cod. He trades with natives and goes back to England.
  • Jamestown founded

    Chritopher Newport founds Jamestown and establish it as the first English settlement in North America. This colony suffers from hunger and Indian attacks.
  • Tobacco Cash Crop in Virginia

    In Jamestown, English settlers plant tobacco to ensure the colony's success. They exported it to Europe.
  • Plymouth Colony

    One hundred Pilgrims, arrived on the Mayflower, established a new settlement in Plymouth. They suffer form hunger.
  • Salem found

    Colonizers arriving at Massachusetts Bay establish the village of Salem.
  • Massachusetts Bay Colony found

    Governor John Winthrop and over 1000 puritans found the Massachusetts Bay colony.
  • Rhode Island Colony found

    Roger Williams founds the colony of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations.
  • New York conquered

    English troops take New Amsterdam from the Dutch and rename it New York.
  • Charleston found

    William Sayle, an English colonizer, founds Charleston.
  • Bacon's Rebellion

    Nathaniel Bacon, a planter from Virginia, raises an army of farmers to revolt against the Governor that doesn't protect them from Indian attacks. His army occupies Jamestown and forces the governor to flee. After winning against the governor’s forces, Bacon burns Jamestown. When Bacon dies suddenly in 1676, the rebellion ends.
  • Pennsylvania found

    William Penn, a Quaker, establishes Pennsylvania.
  • Salem Withcraft

    Witchcraft hysteria begins in Salem. Over the next two years, 20 persons are executed after trials find them guilty of being witches.
  • Georgia founded

    James Oglethorpe, a philanthropist, founds Georgia, a colony for English debtors.
