  • Dalton Model

    Dalton Model
A British Chemist known as John Dalton discovered that every element is made of identical atoms. He also concluded from his research that different elements posses atoms of diverse mass. He pictured atoms as tiny, solid balls
  • Thomas Model

    Thomas Model
A British scientist of the name J.J. Thomson uncovered the electron in 1897. Later he suggested that he announce a new model. This model would portray an atom as a positively charged sphere with electrons attached to it. His model would be described as a muffin with various berries.
  • Nagaoka Model

    Nagaoka Model
A japanese physicist named Hantaro Nagaoka suggested to produce a model of the atom that had a large sphere in the middel with a positive charge. This model would be described as planets revolving around the sun.
  • Rutherford Model

    Rutherford Model
A British physicist by the name Ernest Rutherford could conclude that the atom is mainly compile of empty space elctrons orbiting randomly around a positively charged nucleus.
  • Bohr Model

    Bohr Model
A Danish physicist named Niels Bohr proposed another new atom model that portrayed elctrons moving in consistant layer or shells, other than orbiting randomly. He concluded that atoms absorb or give off energy depending on when the elctrons switch to different shells.
  • Present Day Model

    Present Day Model
The newest atomic model is the result of work done from the 1920s. Electrons create a negatively charged cloud surrounding a nucleus. Now it is concluded that it is impossible to locate where an electron is at any given time.
