Cuba gained officially gained full independence of their country on may 20,1902.It took place right after the Spanish-American war. After the war there was US occupation until eventually the platt amendment was passed, causing all US occupation to leave Cuba. -
The Cuban missile crisis was a 13 day confrontation between the governments of the united states and the soviet union during the cold war. The United states deployed nuclear missiles in the United Kingdom , Italy and Turkey. The soviet union responded by deploying nuclear missiles in Cuba , a neighbor country to the USA. This confrontation was the considered the closest that the two superpower countries had ever gotten to getting into a nuclear warfare. -
The special period was a time when Cuba's economy started to decline rapidly due to the withdrawal of soviets aid in the late 1900's.During this time there was a great economic depression but it started to get better when huego Chávez's ,Venezuela became the primary trading partner as well as ally of Cuba.
