    Russian Space Race

    The Russian space race began during the beginning of the Cold War. It was used to show power between Communist Russia and Democratic US. Sputnik I was the first ever Russian artificial satellite. This was launched on the date of October 4th, 1957. It made simple beeping noises with a battery attached. Eventually it broke and went offline six months later. At the time, this became large news around the world with celebration. The technology being the first of its kind was historical in Russia.

    Berlin Wall

    The Berlin Wall was made to split the territory of East and West Germany. This land was occupied by three powers of United States, Russia and France at the time. Relationships between allies seemed to fade as both Russia and the US wanted to spread each other opinionated ideologies. During the Cold War, Germany seemed to be the major focus throughout. Eventually in November 9th 1949 the Berlin Wall fell due to political changes in Eastern Europe at the time and pressure to change travel laws.

    Fall Of Soviet Union / Gorbachev

    The Soviet Union seemed to start fading away with the coup against Gorbachev. Russia fell into complete chaos after this situation began. Protesters stormed around the white house and Russian Parliament building. The coup failed for many reasons as Gorbachev wasn't cooperating, and failure to arrest Yeltsin before he went to the white house. Eventually the government toppled in 1992 marking the end of the Cold War. People in Russia took to the streets to celebrated and removed statues.
