  • Brown v Board of education

    Oliver brown NAACP lawyer. Kansas and also South Carolina Virginia.The Supreme Court ruled that separating children in public schools on the basis of race was unconstitutional.

  • Murder of Emmett Till

    Emmet Till whistled at Carolyn Bryant. This ll happened in Money Mississippi. Carolyn’s husband and his half brother kidnapped and killed and tortured Emmet Till.

  • Rosa park and the bus boycott

    Rosa park she would not give up her seat to a white man. It all happened in Montgomery Alabama. she wouldn’t not give up her seat to a white man and so she got arrested and started the bus boycott.

  • Southern Christian leadership conference

    Martin Luther king jr and 60 black minister civil rights leader. This all happened in Atlanta Georgia. sclc was organized by the black churches.

  • Little Rock 9

    NAACP 9 black students from Little Rock Arkansas. They were the first black students in a white school.

  • Greensboro sit ins

    it was college students it started with four. Greensboro North Carolina.
    Woolworth lunch counter could buy items but can not be served food it was a protest.

  • Ruby bridges

    the person involved was ruby bridges. this all happened in Louisiana, New Orleans.
    she was one of 6 black children to pass a test to go to a white school taught by one teacher.

  • Freedom riders

    463 individuals and 60 riders. this happened through out all the southern states. they wanted to enforce segregation and in transportation.

  • March on Washington

    250000 people marched in Washington D.C. the results are peaceful and respectful protest for freedom MLK gave his I have a dream speech and it was the last of the night.

  • Civil rights act of 1964

    MLK and LBJ. This happened in Washington D.C. Enable the federal government to prevent racial discrimination and segregation based on color race religion or national origin in private business and public facilities.

  • Assassination of Malcom X

    Malcom X was the face of the Islam nation and helping with civil rights. Malcom x was assassinated in a ballroom in Harlem New York. Malcom died right there by a shotgun.

  • Selma to Montgomery

    SCLC and Jon Lewis was there. this took place in Selma Alabama. it was a huge crow of black citizens marching as protest.

  • Voting rights act 1965

    Lb Johnson started the act. This all happened in Washington D.C. Banned literacy test poll tax voting is a federal matter not a state matter.

  • Assassination of Martin Luther king jr

    Martin Luther king jr was shot by James earl ray. He was shot outside his hotel in Memphis Tennessee. The results where Martin Luther king jr suffered bad wounds and died.
