Race Riot of Springsfield
This was a riot that occurred due to an alleged black man killing a white man and another black man raping a white woman. After officers safely transported the two black men, they were followed to Springfield, Oklahoma. This also happened to be one of Abraham Lincoln's hometowns. By surprise, the white crowd that followed the two black men started to tear down the down, destroying the homes and businesses of black folk. -
NAACP Created
The NAACP, or the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, was created on Abraham Lincoln's birthday as a way to defend people of color from discrimination and to ensure equal rights among everyone. -

Rosa Parks became secretary for the NAACP for twelve years but was a member until she passed away in 2005. -

Rosa Parks was arrested for breaking the Alabama Law by refusing to give up her seat to a white male. -

The Montgomery Improvement Association was created with members such as Martin Luther King Jr, who helped lead the bus boycott following Rosa Park's arrest.
