    On December 1st, Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a public buss to a white passenger. she got arrested, and because of this it started a bus boycott in Montgomery. The boycott continued for more than a year until the Supreme court upheld a ruling that segregated seating was unconstitutional.

    This Civil rights movement was to ban segregation in bus terminals and restrooms. The group of people who did this used the terminals of the opposite race.

    This march was a group of 250,000 people who gather peacefully in Washington and marched fro jobs and freedom to protest civil rights abuse and employment discrimination

    This Civil Rights movement was to gain more economic and human right for poor Americans. This campaign included NAtive Americans, Mexican Americans, Asian Americans, and etc

    The YLO was an organization created by Puerto Rican youth in Chicago which created a free breakfast program for kids and community health clinics

    This was the first national march for lesbian and gay rights whic took place in Washington. It had 75,000- 125,000 people marching for LGBTQ rights
  • 1986- Immigration Reform and Control Act (IRCA)

    Congress approved of the IRCA which provided legalization for undocumented workers.

    Hawaii's Judge Change rules that the state does not have the legal right to deprive same-sec couples the right to marry.
