This was the precursor to the Church of Scientology, Founded by L. Ron Hubbard, Dianetics was conceived as a form of therapy for people, this process was called "auditing".This practice involves techniques from hypnosis, and its purpose is to create obedience in the subject. This practice however was deemed pseudoscience by many experts, and later this practice was converted into one of the many practices of the Church of Scientology

In 1952, Hubbard started his movement to convert his ideas of Dianetics into a religion under the name of Scientology.

Between 1952-1953, a series of legal issues took place, many of his followers were arrested and and a prosecution of Hubbards Dianetics Foundation took place, for teaching medicine without an offical license.

During the 1970s the most eventful time for the Church was operation "Snow White" where various church members were to attempt to purge all bad information about there leader Hubbard. This involved inflatration of 136 government agencies, later they were found out and somewhat convicted
